Safety is No Child’s Play: Why Do Babies Need CCTV Protection?

Babies are God’s gift to us. The little bundle of innocence and cuteness make our days and give meaning to our whole lives. Everything they do puts an overwhelming amount of happiness in us, and we can’t help but record their every movement and put it on social media. But the kids are very vulnerable to their surroundings and require someone to be around them all the time. While parents try their best to give most of their time to their kids, often their work comes in between requiring them to hire babysitters or caregivers. This is why babies need to be monitored when the parents are not around them. Here are seven reasons why you need CCTV cameras when there is a baby at home:

Babysitters need to be monitored

These days, mothers tend to begin working as soon as they have had their delivery, thanks to more advanced neonatal care. This makes most parents hire babysitters to take care of their newly born, which in turn, has made school and college students start to take up babysitting jobs. Since these babysitters are teenagers, they resort to malpractices and other questionable practices.

Some of the ways where babysitters cause damage to host house are as follow:

  • Theft: Many teenage students who double as babysitters find the job as an opportunity to get their hands on the host’s valuables. Even if they participate in low-key theft, it still is a crime and a matter of concern.
  • Misbehavior: There have been many instances where babysitters have called on their friends and partied in the house they were supposed to take care of. They often cause damage to materials and create a mess all around in the name of babysitting.
  • Overutilization of resources: Babysitters tend to overuse the resources provided to them by the host. Some of the examples include eating canned food, watching excessive TV, and sleeping in the owner’s bed.
  • Substance abuse: Since most babysitting jobs are taken up by teenagers looking to make some quick bucks, they tend to be exposed to substances like alcohol, drugs, cigarettes, etc. Not to mention using any of these substances around babies is incredibly harmful to them.

Midwives and Wetnurses need to be monitored too

Midwives are one of the oldest parts of bringing up babies. They are often together with the mother as early as when the baby is still in the womb. From pregnancy to post-pregnancy, midwives help mothers by taking care of them as well as the baby throughout. Nevertheless, midwives, nowadays, have been known to misbehave and malpractice. An increasing number of cases have been filed against midwives, where they have been reported to hit the baby and even introduce them with opium and alcohol to make them sleep quickly.

Protection from Pets

We have all seen adorable videos of kids with their pets having fun. Pets love to have kids around them, and so do the kids. They run around the house, play together, and often fall asleep on top of each other. Nevertheless, without an authoritative presence, pets might end up harming kids, even if it is unintentionally. That is why having a caregiver monitoring system to watch over the pets while they play with kids is essential.

Sleep Pattern Development

It is incredibly difficult to figure out a pattern for how babies sleep. More often than not, they don’t go to sleep when you want them to, and sometimes they even wake up crying from their sleep. With a security CCTV camera, parents can keep track of the baby’s sleeping habits and figure out at what time they usually go to sleep. This will help the parent schedule nap times for the baby without worrying about him/her waking up.

Accident Control

After six months, babies start growing up quickly and utilizing the objects around them to learn to walk or drag themselves around the house. If you are away from them even for a while, chances are they might hurt themselves with the objects lying around. This is why having a CCTV camera monitoring them comes in handy. It allows you to keep track of what the baby is up to, even if you are in a different section of the house.

Habits and Behaviour

Another great advantage of having CCTV cameras around kids is to watch over their habits and understand how they are growing up. This will help you become a better parent for your kids and curate things according to their interests.

In Creches and Play School

When the kids are able to go to playschool, they discover an all-new world around them. The newly gained independence makes them want to try potentially harmful things with their friends. They also tend to fight each other and make a mess around them if nobody is watching over them. This is why placing CCTV cameras in Play Schools is important.
