It is reported that around fifty thousand partner visa applications are approved each year. That is not a really high amount so it is really important that you do everything right to make sure your application is among the ones getting approved. Applying for a partner visa is a complex process with a lot of formalities and requires a substantial amount of documents. The Partner visa lets the partner(de facto) of an Australian citizen or permanent resident live in Australia temporarily. Getting this visa opens the way for becoming a permanent resident. Here, we will discuss how you can get a Partner visa approved in less that seven months.
Paying attention to detail before applying for the Partner visa is going to be crucial. If your goal is to live with your partner in Australia, then you must have all the required documents and evidence ready for verification. The process and chances of getting a Partner visa is a bit difficult and it can also be very costly. If you fail to provide all the necessary documents and slack on your paperwork then you will probably face some delay in the allocation of an officer for your case. This will eventually lead to a request for the remaining documents and a delay in the approval of your application. The current processing time for Partner visa applications is between 17 to 24 months, but including all the required documents can help get your visa approved in less than 7 months.
The waiting times for the Partner visa can be significantly shortened if you lodge a ‘decision-ready’ application which is also known as a ‘front-loaded’ application. Now lodging a front-loaded application means attaching all the necessary required documents at the time of the application. It’s important to know that this visa is not only time consuming but it is also one of the more costly visas out there. At the moment, the cost for this visa is AUD7,850 so it’s better to go through everything thoroughly before the final submission.
There are 2 stages for the offshore partner visa:
Partner Provisional visa: This is the first stage of the offshore partner visa and this visa is temporary. You can apply for this visa outside Australia if you are the partner of an Australia citizen, resident or an eligible New Zealand citizen. After the grant of the partner visa 309 you will be allowed to live in Australia temporarily and this gets you one step closer to permanent residency.
Partner Migrant visa: The second stage of the offshore partner visa and the key to unlocking your Australian permanent residency. You will be able to apply for this visa after 2 years to get your permanent residency.
