When you are trying to ensure that your family is nice and healthy, you are usually concerned about the hygiene of public places. But the first thing that you have to do to ensure that your family is healthy is to have a clean home. There are many cleaning tips that you can use to deeply clean your house. But considering how much time that families spend at home you have to ensure that you are making the house as hygienic as possible. Even though you might be keeping your home in tip-top shape, there are always ways you can increase your home’s hygiene and improve the overall health of your whole family. If you are looking to increase your home’s hygiene, here are some of the best ways.

Focus On the Bathroom

We all know that the bathroom is where the majority of the germs are. That is why people often focus on deep cleaning the bathrooms. But what they don’t realise is that there are a lot of pathogens that are looking in places that you are not expecting, therefore not cleaning often. The first thing that you need to clean is the toilet handle. A lot of people don’t realise that there are quite a few unexpected things like enterococcus and rotavirus living on them. On top of those, it is also a great place where the covid particles are sticking to. Another important thing to focus on is the floors. Even though the majority of people clean the floors a lot of people stop there. When you are cleaning a bathroom, it is important that you clean it from floor to ceiling. Aside from all the bacteria that are born in the bathrooms, another big threat is mould. The best space where mould can thrive is in the bathroom as it is humid. What a lot of people don’t realise is that mould is very toxic. It will not only look bad but it can cause a lot of health issues. Aside from mould, you can also find fungi that cause athlete’s foot as well as ringworm. What you need to do is ensure that you are cleaning the bathroom with a disinfectant that is also able to kill mould as well as fungus. But make sure that you are not just cleaning the floors, make sure that you are cleaning all the tiles that are on the walls as well as spraying the ceiling with a disinfectant made for that surface.

Always Focus on The High-Traffic Hot Spots

The best possible way you can ensure that your house is more hygienic than it was before is to focus on high-traffic spots. A lot of people forget about high-traffic spots as they are things like light switches, remote controllers, door knobs and so on. Make sure that you are not neglecting those things and cleaning them every day with a disinfectant. It is because you are interacting with them on a daily basis that makes them germ prone even if you are using an instant hand sanitiser

Clean Your Bedroom

Another thing that people don’t think about is how non-sanitary bedrooms are. Your bedroom is where you sleep at least seven hours so it is important that you clean it properly. We all know that we shouldn’t keep our clothes on the floor and that we should change our sheets every seven to ten days. But what people don’t think about is the quality of air. The best thing that you can do to improve it is to make sure that you are vacuuming and dusting the bedroom on a regular basis. On top of that, you can also get an air purifier for the bedroom. Something that a lot of people don’t even realise what they should be doing is rotating their mattresses. If you have pets, make sure that you are not allowing them on the bed as there is nothing that will make your room more unhygienic. Pet hair and dander is something that a lot of people have an intolerance to. If you have pets and you let them sleep with you, make sure that you are hiring professional cleaners such as the Crystal Maids to deep clean the whole room once in a while.

Clean Your Windows and Doors

Places around the doors and the windows accumulate a lot of dirt, dead bugs and dust. Leaving them uncleaned will make your whole family more susceptible to respiratory illnesses as well as colds and allergy attacks. That is why you need to make sure that you are keeping those areas as clean as possible by vacuuming and dusting.  When you are cleaning make sure that you are keeping the windows and doors closed because this will increase the amount of dust that is being left around.

When you have a family, there is nothing more important than keeping them healthy and the best way to do so is by following these tips. A clean home is a healthy home.
