The world is going through a pandemic and most of the countries are hit by novel coronavirus also known as Covid-19. As the whole world prepares to battle this disease chances are that more people will get infected and the death rate will go up during the next few months. The countries that have been most affected by coronavirus are China, Iran, and Italy.
Coronavirus is a respiratory disease that is said to originate from the wet market of Wuhan city. Although Wuhan is in lockdown, china has shown great progress to slow down the number of new cases. While other countries suffer from this dangerous virus. Right now we are going through a global crisis and there is no vaccine available for this virus.
There are certain precautions that we can take in order to prevent this virus from spreading any further. Like most people are saying that we have to flatten the curve of this virus, otherwise, it will just spread exponentially. The reason why we need to flatten the curve of this virus is that most countries have limited resources. The healthcare in most countries are not that great and such countries will get affected if they don’t take serious actions.
WHO recommended some very important precautions that most of us should follow, in order to stop this virus. As there are no vaccines available yet, you have to boost your immune system by consuming healthy foods and avoiding foods that are undercooked. Having a good immune system is what most of us should look forward to, the following are some of the other precautions that you should take in order to prevent this virus.
1. WASH YOUR HANDS
Hands pick up most microbes that are not visible to your naked eye. You might think that your hands are clean but they are not. Studies have shown that Covid-19 can survive on any surface for 4-5 days. So chances are that if you touched a place that was previously visited by an infected person then you might get infected as well. This is why you should wash your hands for 1 minute. There are tons of videos that you can watch. They will teach you how to properly wash your hands. Apart from that, you can also use alcohol-based hand rubs.
2. SOCIAL DISTANCING
This is another thing that you should take care of, maintain social distancing. I mentioned before that such pandemics have exponential growth. There are some irresponsible people who won’t even care about maintaining a social distance. This is how such viruses spread. If 1 person is infected 3 others then after one month that rate can go up to 400. Similarly, if you maintain social distancing then this rate can go down to 40 people in one month. This is why social distancing is so important.
3. HEALTHY DIET
As there is no vaccine available for this disease. The most important thing is that you should maintain a healthy lifestyle by consuming foods that can help in boosting your immune system. Foods that are rich in vitamin C, vitamin D, zinc, iron, and folic acid. There are various foods that you can find that are rich in these nutrients. Foods like bone broth, salmon, leafy vegetables, and nuts are some of the foods that can boost your immune system.
4. AVOID TRAVELLING
Almost 130+ countries are now affected by the coronavirus and during this time it’s not safe to travel anywhere. Most importantly if you are living in a country where it has already infected a lot of people. Another important thing is that you should avoid large gatherings and crowded places. Try to isolate yourself and avoid traveling. If you go out, always remember to keep a small bottle of sanitizer with you. This will help in containing the virus.
5. AVOID TOUCHING YOUR FACE
Touching your eyes, mouth, and nose will increase the chances of you getting sick. As I said before that washing your hands is very important as most microbes get attached to your hands. If you forget to wash your hands and by mistake touch your face with contaminated hands then that virus can enter your body easily. The spread of this virus is human to human. Once another person coughs or sneezes the droplets contain the virus. The virus won’t survive much in the air but it can survive on the surface for 3-4 days.
FINAL WORDS:
We are facing an issue that this current generation has not gone through before, the last time such pandemic hit the world was in 1918. Although healthcare has improved from that time, still there are some countries that can’t afford such drastic health crises. So it’s better to take all these precautions seriously and avoid any unnecessary contact with someone else. This is the only way that can save your country from the spread of this virus. Do your part and stay safe.
